Sample Yoga Cards
The Yoga Deck includes several different types of cards so that you may enjoy a full and
varied yoga experience: 6 Breath Cards, 5 Warm-Up Cards, 1 Om Card, 32 Posture Cards, and 6
Meditation Cards.
Breath Card sample: Complete Breath
Breath cards offer simple yet powerful ways to use your breath to decrease tension, increase
energy, and promote physical and mental health. The breath is the pulse of the mind: When you
are tense, your breathing becomes shallow or you may hold your breath... thereby increasing the
level of tension.
As you breathe, so you live. May your breath be full and deep.
Warm-Up Card sample: Leg Stretch
You shouldn't begin any exercise program without warming up first and yoga is no exception.
We've included several warm-up cards to prepare your body and mind for yoga postures and
meditations. They're guaranteed to get your neck, shoulders, spine, arms and legs limber and
ready for an effective yoga workout.
The warm-up cards are also great to bring along to the office to recharge and loosen up
after sitting too long at the computer or in one of those meetings that never seems to end!
Om Card sample: Om
Om has several meanings. It is:
The Sound of All Sounds
The Sound of the Universe
The Sound of Creation
The Beginning of Life
Posture Card sample: Downward Dog (Mukhasana)
The Yoga Deck offers 32 different yoga poses from which to choose. The cards are numbered so
that you may do a series of postures or you may simply choose different cards from the deck as
the spirit moves you. The Yoga Deck also includes several recommended sequences offered as
suggestions for different types of workouts: More Energy; Increased Flexibility; Strength; Back
Pain Relief; Relaxation and Stress Relief.
Meditation Card sample: Yoga Meditation
Each meditation card focuses on a philosophical aspect of yoga or a spiritual idea. Read a
meditation card and repeat the phrase offered as a mantra or focus on your breath. When thoughts
arise - as they will - notice them and return your focus to the phrase or your breath.
The benefits of mindful meditation are many. In our stressful, hurried world, it may be just
what you need to help you relax and refresh!
